day 27 tuesday ❤️ 7-7-26

this date holds a special place in my heart. and now it is even more special. my dad entered Glory on july 7th in 1994. i remember everything about that day.

fast foward 32 years, and i believe i will remember everything about this july 7th also. it is the day we officially dedicate the omboga community center, library, coffee shop and public water to God. we ask for His blessing, protection, guidance, love and peace to be poured out on all of it! it was such a perfect way to give back to God all He did to make this possible -- the vision, dream, land, finances, and hard physical labor of so so many. the impact will be felt far and wide. i am immensely proud of what the Lord has given.

after God, i am most proud of stephen. without him, none of this would have happened. he and i make one heckuva team. we both get things done 🤣. stephen odhiambo, you are brilliant!

and i took hardly any pictures other than what are in my mind's eye 👁 😐  we left kisii early afternoon and, per usual, it takes longer than it should 😝 every trip in this van takes on a life of its own. it was alex, esther, bella, seth, jack, me, winny, olivia, and lucy. i smile just thinking about it.

we get there and a few community leaders are already there and then pastors martin and charles arrive with vernon and sammy. they are doing both water testing and the blessing and dedication ceremony.

we gather in the library and listen to short sermons on galatians 6:9 (not to grow weary in doing good), II corinthians 9:6 (sowing and reaping), and (a Godwink) matthew 5:16 (this trip's guiding verse of letting your light shine so others will see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven).

we then hold hands in prayer, and after a minute of me choking back tears, i offer up the prayer.

and then we drink lemongrass tea and eat fresh peanuts.

i am maybe more thankful for this project than any other i have been involved in.
