day 26 monday 🤪

we are in the last week of trip #6. mentally, the transition starts.... and i start trying to figure out how soon i can get back here realistically 🫣.

this is our last full day in kisii. i stayed more organized this trip than ever before. made decision to leave two of the four big suitcases we came with. one still has many craft items, plus they will get used here as storage. win-win.

today, we still needed to get beds to zipporah next door. but before i post that update.....

i forgot to post pictures of morah's finished project. this is the kitchen and bathroom she now has. she is over.the.moon. that makes me so happy inside. if not one other blessing happened this month, it would have been enough. it really isn't that hard to improve someone's life.

okay, back to zipporah. alex and robert got beds loaded on the van, and off we go. when we turn onto a very rutted uphill path, i thought 'this will prove interesting.' and it did.

stuck. in a 15-passenger van. thankfully, people appear out of thin air. as always. beds offloaded. much burning of rubber. and pushing. repeat. repeat. success.

her home is made of mud. it is so dark, i want to cry. i cannot imagine. my mind is way more at peace by light spaces, and darkness shifts my emotional state downward. and to see her joy over the beds. i will never in forever be able to reconcile it. i quit trying and decide to just be happy with her ❤️.

we asked zipporah to crawl into her bed and try it out. then she started hugging me, kissing me, and dancing with me!!! she doesn't speak or understand english, but do you really need words to express abundant gratitude? nope, you don't 🥰

when i uploaded photos, i decided to include a picture that makes me so mad when i see it 🤬. the man on the bench? that's the husband. a drunkard. who sits all day and night. and never does anything except sit and drink. argh. i hate alcohol. hate.

to end on a positive note 😝, george the vet stops by to check on the kitties. according to him, they are perfectly fine and need nothing. alrighty, then. no charge, just a nice conversation. gotta love their easygoing ways 😉
