monday and tuesday were actually relatively mellow compared to many days here. we don't have transportation, so that influences our comings and goings 😆 it was good to be grounded because it helps us build relationships with the girls more quickly.
thankfully, both lydia and i are night owls (definitely not early birds 🫠) which allows us to enjoy a slow start 💕 to the days when that option presents itself! the next six days are full, so monday and tuesday mornings were blessings! we made smoothies, drank coffee, did Bible study together and just talked about you name it.
both days, i just walked all around taking pictures, chatting with workers, asking questions, and visiting the fatties and chickens. it is a busy and happy place here. at home, i am by myself more than i am not, and i am finding that i really love having people right outside the doors of this apartment. i can have alone time inside, but can have comradery in a blink. best of both worlds.
and the relaxing, quiet mornings come to a screeching halt in the afternoons 😝 we have started our various activities with the girls! i am overseeing four girls making potholders and three girl doing safari diamond art 😁. they are doing so good! i am blown away at their attention span. dang! two hours of focused sitting and concentrating. and they don't want to stop. so they keep going 🫣 they are making them to bring back to u.s. to sell at our april fundraiser. they are on a mission because they know it will be used to help them here.
four of us played number rings today... one of my favorite learning math games ever! it took over an hour for one game, but it was really great and enjoyable!
and the espresso machine went live today!!! woot!!! everyone is loving it (especially lydia and me 😝)
it has been a very very good week in kenya 💕
tomorrow, HOMABAY!!! cannot stinking wait 🤗

Sounds wonderful. You have a home away from home. Enjoy every minute and make memories!
