monday was a hard day. physically, i was just tired. i probably have never danced that much in all my years combined 🫣. emotionally, i was wrestling with a lot. so, what did i do? hung out with the goats 🐐🫶.
and then we had kids' club. i absolutely love love pouring into these kids. they are sponges. there is so very much potential. i want to help every single one of them. they are breathtakingly beautiful and relish individual attention in grading workbooks, sharpening pencils, and teaching new concepts. it is the best. i really love teaching. feels like the old homeschooling days 💚.
tuesday, lydia took individual and group photos of the staff. we will write bios and use in a "meet the staff" section on the "in his hands" website. then.... we played spoons with the staff!!! ABSOLUTE MADNESS!!!! OMG! i thought we were competitive at home 😜 then we taught them a few american dance songs, macarena and electric slide. we have had so stinking much fun with the staff!!! they have formed a new level of friendship with each other, for sure.
wednesday, we went souvenir shopping! in june, even though we were here for a month, we did not get around to any gifts. we got to the airport late when we were headed home and the gate agent gave us 7 minutes to run to the shops. a keychain and set of coasters later, we boarded 😭. we bought a few things and are satisfied to take home memories. then we had kids' club... awesome as always. then bella and i spent time finishing up the staff wish lists. this time for winny (nurse) and olivia (social worker). i am happy to leave knowing they have everything they need in anticipation of the girls coming.... hopefully soon. still, we wait.
