winding it down....

a definite standout about kenya as a whole is that there are people walking EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME. at home in my neck of the woods, you wouldn't see people walking along country roads, highways, even neighborhoods. it is completely opposite here.

after we had breakfast with moses on monday morning, we moved to lunch 😂 with stephen and his business partner, daniel. the number of times we have had deep, thoughtful, God-honoring, intellectual conversations this week are countless. i have not been in this type of think tank environment for a long time. i have found i love it! need it even. it makes me realize i can bring value to working through processes even though i haven't been in a business or professional environment for over 25 years.

my brain was going at warp speed at this point. we had had so many conversations with so many brilliant minds, i had to get it out of my head and onto paper and soon. i didn't want to chance losing some of the ideas that had been brought out.

after a long lunch, stephen dropped michelle and i off at the national museum of kenya. i learned so much! we had a sweet, history buff young girl, risper. it was enlightening and painful to learn about the history of kenya fighting for its independence.

and we won't see stephen again this trip. thank you Father for the gift of this blessed friendship you formed....

then we went to eat at fogo gaucho.... oh my, crocodile, turkey, beef, and chicken! best full meal we have had.... and i wouldn't trade the endless supply of fresh juices available everywhere for anything.i for sure eat wayyy better here than home 😏

we came back to the ibis hotel and went to sleep at a decent hour. tuesday morning meant no alarm clock, yay!!! this was our last sleep in kenya. i haven't had jet lag really and have felt really strong physically, and i am very very grateful for that.

tuesday morning, michelle and i met for breakfast and to have a working meeting just the two of us. we poured out everything we had in us, so she can have a working document to revise as she fully develops the vision here with her board of directors back home.

and then we got a 90-minute full body deep muscle massage. dang, brittney, you rock sister!!

we are now packing up, meeting justin for dinner, and heading to airport at 8:00 p.m. for an 11:30 flight. oh, how i am praying we don't miss our connecting flight in pairs. soooo hopeful. it is going to be another long 36 hours even without any hiccups : /

as i sign off, i am doing exactly what that van says. i love being here. i love being home. bridging the two worlds is hard. you go back different. i want to be used in the way He wants. there is something stirring in me not wanting to miss an opportunity. i am in a sweet season of life of having good health and more freedom now that most of the kids are no longer kids. i will pray until something happens, whatever that might look like, i have absolutely no idea. i trust you, Father to do as you think best : )

  4. Before the rising sun we fly;
    So many roads to choose,
    We start off walkin’ and learn to run,
    And yes, we’ve just begun.

    From “We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters.

    This could be you and Michelle’s theme song!
