days 21 - 24

why, oh why, do i do this?! try and remember four days of things, and then spend a stupid amount of time recalling them all 😭?!

bullet points for the win 🤓

{i have been teaching some of the girls how to play euchre and solitaire. i gave them each a deck of cards, and they will be endlessly entertained. and they like my used mosquito bracelets.  i am hoping those suckers work because i opted to not take malaria Rx again 🙄}

(many pictures ahead. sweetwater outreach -- friends we met last june -- have come three times to provide both education and water testing. such an incredible and needed ministry. martin and charles took water samples from our kitchen sink tap, our well, and the kisii spring where most locals get their water. the samples received a powder that is basically food for bacteria. if there is bacteria in the water, the bacteria has a feast. the bottles were put into the dark for 48 hours. 

i was really nervous about seeing the results. i drink bottled water here, but all our utensils and dinnerware is washed using sink water. if our water tested positive, it would involve a whole system to filtrate. not expensive, just more extra work. the staff does not need that. 

our water is SAFE!!!!!! the kisii spring -- contaminated. before they showed the results to the girls, they unanimously said that the kisii spring was 100% clean and safe to drink. they said they have zero question about its safety. 

until they saw the results for themselves 😳}

{and how awesome is it that we can serve our guests lattes and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies now? yes, VERY awesome 😁}

{and digging. and more digging. and then dig more. good news is we received approval from the structural engineer that the perimeter wall can start. as soon as digging is done. tossing bags of skittles from the mission apartment balcony gets smiles!}

{goats all good! their area notsomuch. many trees needed removed to clear for building the wall. there have been workers here cleaning up the brush and trees. the goats will have limited range until the wall is done. fence kiddo james helps alex some days and elvis wanted to copy james 🥹}

{thursday we cleaned up the grounds starting at front gate clear up to the goat pen. looks mucho better 😊}

{i sat in on 7th grade science class. disrupted some 🫣. then it was science lab collecting eggs and sorting by size.}

{i took pictures of all the girls and asked them a few questions about their hopes and dreams. doctors, teachers, dancers, and artists in the making ❤️!}
