days 7 - 9

i have no idea why blogging is a struggle this trip! it is end of day 9, and i have had little time to write about all the dozens of things we have done. at the end of the day, my brain is so tired 🥹. 

 one thing i know is that i am thankful for the new dining room table in the missionary apartment.  oh my goodness, we have gotten our money's worth already. we have met at that table for about 15 hours over 2.5 days. lydia, stephen, bella and i have become very close 🤪 proof is in the pictures 😜

highlights: 

-- eleven staff members have formally accepted permanent positions! so much time was spent on detailing policies for attendance, scheduling, phone usage and outlining responsibilities and expectations. each member has now completed their 90 day probabtion period. it was sweet that it was stephen, lydia and i who hired them back in june and now we were back to bring things full circle. thank you Lord for continuity and assembling a super special team. 

-- tuesday we thought the ten government officials were coming to approve the opening of the center. finally. now rescheduled for next monday. argh!!!! governments are beyond frustrating no matter where you live, we will leave it at that. 

-- the car is fixed. mechanic joshua came from nairobi, took engine out, took it by motorbike to a shop, and reassembled. 

-- we have a new vet. hard lessons were learned and we had to pivot. george has turned things around and we are grateful. donna is still the sassiest goat on the planet. 

-- we were without power for a day. memories were made 😝 so stinking glad we aren't working in the dark tonight 🩵 the view of the moon is as pretty here as it is at home. 

-- the sewing pilot project is underway! we have three working sewing machines, two trainers, and six trainees. they have all been evaluated and begin making aprons next monday! they will work for two weeks, and we will decide if this is an area we should take to the next level.

-- tomorrow we are heading to homabay to see our new well 😁😁😁😁😁!!!
