sunday and monday 😁

alex brings another rooster this morning, this one a gift from the church. as brendan said, "can't get much fresher than that!"

sunday morning we met moses at the property. he is so busy, and yet willing to give his time to the project. we went room by room on the six bedrooms we are finishing, hopefully by the time we leave. we figured out paint colors, placement of bunkbeds, and design for storage cubbies.

then we went outside and made decisions on external paint and what colors should go where. we have agonized over this because it is a really big decision!

and the scaffolding is finally off the rescue center!!! they went down one layer at a time to fill the holes where the wood scaffolding literally went into the building as support. luke said when he got here that OSHA would shut the operation down immediately 🤣. but we ain't in kansas anymore 🥹

i am going to paint a sign to hang on the gate to the goat pen ☺️

i had a long meeting with michelle sunday night to go through dozen of questions, ideas, and updates. it feels good to work with a true sense of purpose.

so, monday and tuesday were almost identical with the EXCEPTION of tuesday we brought the coffee pot ☕️! alex continues to work on the goat shelter and lydia and i (and chatgpt 😆) put together the nine offers of employment. it was a lot of work. we will be offering positions and feel confident of our selections. four will live onsite. it is going to be so great 🩷🩷🩷

and a huge shout out to all who bought the triple bunkbeds!!!! all are covered! and the prototype was built today by the metal fabricators! it looks SO good! they will go through a process to paint and finish. 1 down and 19 to go 🤗

(our POV for two days : )

(and here is the bathroom)

(the food makes up for the bathroom 😜)

today marks the halfway point. i feel very good about what has been accomplished in a short time.  the morale of the workers is absolutely improved with having us here. we recognize them, thank them, applaude them.... and this is hard hard hard work. they deserve so much, it is both humbling and inspiring to see the work ethic. incredible.

(all day long, up and down the hill, carrying bags of concrete and rocks)
