friday .... funday 😂

i know i have said it before, and i shall say it again 🤪... time is the weirdest thing here. the time flies and the moments blur. very hard to explain, but it is a very real phenomenon. 

it is monday evening, and so i add to the challenge, by having to go back in time. i am determined to get caught up tonight. 

friday. omgoodness! i seriously laughed 50 times that day. from when lydia recorded it until after midnight. every time i thought about it, i would laugh. luke and lydia would say, "oh my goodness, are you watching it again?!!!" i know it was one of those where you had to be here... and.... it will go down as a favorite memory for this trip!

luke and alex continued working on the goat shelter, lydia taught the kids at the fence, and i did miscellaneous paperwork for michelle. we wanted to get four hammocks put up since four awesome people had donated money for them. 

alex, our groundsman and driver, honestly never stops working. we told him to come over and try a hammock. because he is used to constant motion, he just got on. and flipped right out. and got on. and flipped right out. and got on. and flipped right out. 3x!!! i am absolutely in hysterics!

and then contrast alex's techniques to stephen's. stephen owns rubbycon,  the construction firm overseeing the project. very methodical. steady, analyzing. i am still laughing even typing about it 🤣

and the view from the hammock? national geographic ain't got nothing on us! it.is.unstinkingbelievable.

we came back and got cleaned up to head to humphreys hillhouse. justin, a friend and long distance driver for us, picked us up with boombox in hand. humphreys was designed and built by moses. moses is an architect who is a prominent design engineer in kenya. he is on our CBO board (community based organization) and owns the humphrey, named after his father. it is kenyan tradition to give back to the community you are from. we had an outdoor dance party and dinner on the rooftop. 

it was a really really special day 🥰
