it happens every time i travel. i get nostalgic and sentimental. i pay more attention to the little things and become more intentional and grateful. when you are getting ready to step away from all that is familiar, it makes you very aware of all the things you take for granted on the daily.
and i am excited! heading back to kenya just feels right. it is so great because i am now familiar with things there too. it helps me feel more secure. the faces and places are not strange to me anymore.
there's a new type of anticipation with this trip too because luke and lydia are coming along for the first part. this is luke's first mission trip and first time to leave the good ol' USA, and this is lydia's first time back to africa since leaving ethiopia in 2011. i will be seeing it through their eyes, and i just want them to love it like i do. maybe they will. regardless, they will be changed; that it a given.
okay! we still need supplies! goats have been the most purchased item so far! each doe will be named after the person who bought her! my goats above think you should buy one! we still need three more : )
and we need several other items with a wide variety of price tags. we will be posting on facebook hopefully every day, so you will see what you helped make happen.
