million little miracles : )

today was a day i will never forget! 😊 i am full. it was high energy and just really really happy.

lydia, you need to come to africa. you would love it!!!

we gotta sleep in until 8:00 which was a much needed blessing. we headed to richard and jackie's to scoop them up. we all love them so much ❤️ they are soooo precious and amazing.  we had about 8 full suitcases with supplies. thankfully they were sorted by type 😳. we had bought recyclable bags to pack separate sacks for the various widows. we would deliver some and richard would take some tomorrow. we opened the suitcases up in back of the bus and trevor, mary, michelle and i were crazy people calling out sizes and gender and color and tossing things all over for specific ladies. keeping track of the families and how many kids are currently living with each one is harder than herding cats.

(this looks calm. trust me it wasn't 😵‍💫)

(and this is the group that had gathered outside the bus hoping we would give them something. and we did 😉)

(these are random pictures from the day... i got to hang out with a goat 😁😁😁, get licked by a cow 😁, and watch phoebe and eliza pick no less than 100 ticks off this sweet cow who seemed most appreciative. )

(and so many banana trees. weirdly cool!)

(passed this lady walking up a looong hill to milkah's house. she was washing clothes in this filthy pool of water )

we visited milkah's home and hannah's. they were happy.

(milkah's mattress 🥺)

(michelle brought two of her kids, victoria and eliza. esther and them have become great friends. they play cards every time they can and sit together on the bus.)

and tonight was just magical. daniel from the soapstone company met us at a new and very high end hotel called the humphrey. it sits high on a hill overlooking kisii. the owner is a relatively young guy named moses. he's an architect and designed it. they grow their own food in back of the property. it is such a disconnect from the people and places we see each day, it was hard to believe we were experiencing such beauty. we ate on the rooftop at sunset. the glimmer of reflection you can see right below the sun is lake victoria.

but the highlight was justin, one of our drivers. he has made this trip in so many ways. he has swag like nobody's business. he was dancing and throughout the day was trying to teach us. i do not understand how people can move like he can! moses brought a neon speaker out and it was a dance party 🥳

the energy tonight was incredible and unforgettable ✨️

when dinner arrived, the inside bar switched to playing praise music and a song called million little miracles came on. today felt like that ☺️
