bittersweet day for sure. hoping to do mostly photo dump on this post because i wanna get to bed before midnight 🥹
we went to church with alex, and boy, we were at moviestar or rockstar status 😂. they said "honored guests"... who were sang to, prayed for, interviewed, and escorted to car when we left 🤗 i think they were happy we were there lol. the rescue center is within minutes of their outdoor church, and they are very grateful that we are in their neighborhood. it was very humbling.
alex brought a live chicken to itibo that morning as a parting gift to luke. alex loves luke and luke loves alex; working side by side all week created a special brotherhood between them.
after church, we went back to itibo where the kitchen staff had sealed that rooster's fate. justin was here to take luke to nairobi for his flight back saturday night. it was really hard to say goodbye to that boy. everyone who met him remembered him. stephen and moses are ready to create a business partnership 😏...
and a picture from last night when we left the property... the fence kids weren't having it that he was leaving 😭
alex wanted to take lydia and i out for a hike after luke and justin left, knowing it would help lydia's tears. we went to alex's hometown of manga, and it was so great! we hiked and saw beauty everywhere! and he caught a wandering baby goat and i hekd her and kissed her precious little face! i was soooo happy!!!
we met his mama and siblings (and baby glorious), saw his 21 beehives, and made it back before the rains poured out their daily blessing.
it was a good day where i realized just how even more incredible my son in law was. he is going back a better person which is hard to do. thank you, Father, very much.
so much for mainly a photo dump 🫤

so much happens worth recording. photos are memory joggers.
